If you have some grounding in solo guitar and you’ve tried to play shred at home, then you know how hard it is. It requires a mixture of speed and technique that is particularly tricky to master.

Let’s look at a few of the techniques you should learn from guitar shred lessons. Legato – this is a way of playing that’s more associated with classical music. When you are playing legato, the notes just come out smoothly, and you play them without any pauses in between each of the notes. Here’s a third technique, Alternate picking and Sweep Picking. – These two are very suitable for fast tempo shredding. With Alternate picking, you continuously alternate between up and down pick strokes. This is the style that I play most of the time. In Sweep Picking, you make notes by combining a sweeping motion of the pick. And you match a fret hand technique.
Apart from these basic techniques, shredding lessons will also provide you with drills and tips to speed up your guitar playing. This will help you avoid unproductive techniques and increase your rate of progress. Also, you can avoid many mistakes that are commonly made that end up in bad habits. These same bad habits adversely affect your playing later on. Whatever you do, don’t think that talented guitarists don’t need lessons.
